Questions & Answers

How can I store the burritos for later use?

Wrap burritos tightly in foil or parchment and place in a freezer bag. Freeze for up to a month. Reheat by microwaving or baking from frozen.

Can I substitute sausage for a vegetarian option?

Yes, omit sausage and add black beans or extra vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini for added texture and flavor.

What is the best way to avoid soggy burritos?

Allow all cooked ingredients to cool before assembling. This prevents moisture buildup that can make tortillas soggy.

Which cheeses work well in these burritos?

Cheddar cheese is classic, but pepper jack or Monterey Jack can add a pleasant spice and creaminess.

Can I prepare the filling in advance?

Absolutely. You can prepare and refrigerate the sausage and vegetable mixture and scramble eggs just before assembly to keep everything fresh.
